When you think of the word 'Mother', what's the first thing that pops into your head? Love, sacrifice, happiness, lifeline, birth giver and someone with the biggest heart are the most common things that are associated with the word mother. But all these factors do not do justice to the role of a mother.

On the special occasion of Mother's day, I would like to dedicate this post to the love of my life, my maa, my forever strength. When I think of the role my maa plays in my life, there are countless answers. She is not only my mother but my best friend, my soulmate and my happiness. What she has done for me in these twenty years that I've lived, I'll never be able to repay in twenty thousand years. A mother is one who sings you a lullaby with your head in her lap sacrificing her own sleep just so that you can get a few hours of peace. A mother is one who feels twice the pain you do when you are hurt or injured. Every tear you cry, is equivalent to a river of tears for her. A mother is one who no matter what, makes sure your stomach is full before you go to bed even if it means she has to sleep with growls in hers. A mother is one who will forever prioritize your happiness over her own. A mother is one who finds the energy and time to be an all in one counselor, guide and teacher. A mother is one who will fulfill your demands and wishes no matter what, even if it means her working twice as hard. She will sacrifice every single thing, fight every obstacle big or small, put in all the efforts in the world just to see a smile on your face.

Your mother keeps you in her womb for 9 whole months, no matter the pain, the discomfort or the sleepless nights. Every tear that drops down her cheek due to pain, she converts into tears of joy because that is how much she loves you before you are even born. The day you are born, she dedicates her entire life in your care, to make sure you are happy, safe and healthy. That's who a mother is, and that's not even a percent justice to the role she plays. My mother, as a matter of fact has been my strength all through my life. From cheering for my first stage performance, to cheering for my most recent one. Always there, believing in me and encouraging me to always do better. Thank you mumma, for always having my back and making me such a strong and confident person. You have always given me the values you have been raised with, you've always helped me differentiate between right and wrong and you've always corrected me when I've messed up. You are a true inspiration maa. You are my lifeline and the reason I am what I am today. I AM BECAUSE YOU ARE. To all the supermoms out there, wishing you all a happy mother's day. ❤️
